Through our curiosity and thirst for the unknown, the beauty of the universe can now be explored beyond the limits of the naked eye.
The film, by film-maker Johnny Kelly, depicts the life of a farmer as he slowly turns his family farm into an industrial animal factory before seeing the errors of his ways and opting for a more sustainable future. Both the film and the soundtrack were commissioned by Chipotle to emphasize the importance of developing a sustainable food system.
The FIFA Development Globe visualizes FIFA’s development work across the world. The development projects are placed on a 3D globe as triangle based constructions, and can be filtered by their indvidual program types. The globe itself is based on an elegant adaptive subdivision process, representing country shapes in abstracted geometry. In addition, financial assistance budget spending per country and a timeline of events as well as some background information on the FIFA development programs can be accessed within the application.
Augmented Reality Sandbox with Real-Time Water Flow Simulation (by okreylos)
Video of a sandbox equipped with a Kinect 3D camera and a projector to project a real-time colored topographic map with contour lines onto the sand surface. The sandbox lets virtual water flow over the surface using a GPU-based simulation of the Saint-Venant set of shallow water equations.
MAFI is a web plataform composed by independant microdocumentaries that ponder about Chile’s current state. The work format is simple: a stil camara with a fixed composition, short duration and clean direct sound recording. The objective is to capture fragments of the national contingency, and with these to create a filmic map of our reality. These films, from all over Chile, marked by the personal views of the authors presented in clean and highly estimulating images offer the viewer a space to reflect and discuss our history, present and times ahead.
